Our achievement

In this age of globalization, women's rights, empowerment and creation of a work-friendly environment are essential for building a progressive society. The Department of Women's Affairs is working to promote women's development and rights in the mainstream of the state and society. In the last 3 years, food aid has been provided to 6465 poor women through VGD activities. About 12,364 women have been provided maternity allowance. Lactating allowance assistance has been provided to 1425 working women. Since its inception, micro loans of Rs. 23,61,000 / - have been provided to 264 destitute women. 450 needy women have been trained in various trades through IGA training project. . Out of all the women who have established themselves in different sections of the society by overcoming adversity through competition under "Bangladesh in Search of Victory" program, 15 women in 5 categories in the upazila have been encouraged to go ahead by selecting and awarding "Jayita". Support has been provided to entrepreneurial and interested women to develop as entrepreneurs. In order to make them self-reliant, 21 sewing machines have been distributed among the poor women. Awareness meetings and seminars have been organized for the people of different professions to prevent child marriage from the upazila. About 90% of child marriages have been stopped. Various programs have been adopted for the implementation of National Women's Development Policy-2011 as per National Action Plan-2013.
